The Fiat Punto Evo (Punto facelift) has been doing rounds sans the camouflage lately and here is the refreshed hatchback posing alongside the older model in the latest spyshots sent by IAB reader Mr. Srikanth.
The Punto Evo looks refreshing compared to the current car's aging design. The headlamps, grille and the bumper are completely revamped. The new car gets chrome highlighting for the grille and foglamp enclosures. On closer inspection, it can be noticed that the bonnet now has a subtle central ridge which goes well with the new fascia.
The profile of the car can be differentiated only by means of the new alloy wheel design and the ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. The rear bumper receives chrome embellishment and auxiliary stoplights on either sides, and a there is a new font style for the 'Punto' badge. The new detailing for the combination lights round off the exterior changes.
On the inside, the facelift borrows the dashboard from the new Linea. Going by the previous spyshots, both full black and dual-tone beige-black color themes are in the offing.
The Punto Evo is expected to retain the powertrain pool that has two petrol engines - 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre - and the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine that is available in two states of tune. The car that was spotted is a high-end 90 bhp diesel variant. All engines pair to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Fiat Punto Evo is expected to launch within this month or early next month.
