Indian Autos Blog reader Mr. Saahil Kapoor spotted the Fiat Punto Evo facelift near Mumbai’s Gateway of India, where the hatchback’s commercials were being shot. The Punto facelift, at least for India, is christened ‘Punto Evo‘, and will be launched in the coming weeks.

The refreshed Punto will be called ‘Punto Evo’.

The refreshed premium hatch gets a new face with redesigned headlights, grille and bumper with plenty of chrome elements. The headlights are carried over from the Avventura concept shown at the Auto Expo, and the grille is seemingly inspired by the Fiat Viaggio sedan. Over to the sides, changes come in the form of new alloy wheels and wing mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Designers have limited the changes at the rear to reprofiled taillights and a new bumper with chrome-enclosed reflectors. A new Orange body color, as seen in these snaps, will be offered on the Evo in addition to several other existing colors.

Inside, the hatchback gets a new dashboard which it shares with the 2014 Linea. Unlike its sibling which takes on beige plastics, the Punto gets an all-black layout on this variant. A rear AC vent will be included in its features list.

The Fiat Punto Evo will launch in the coming weeks with new exteriors and interiors.

Mechanically, the Punto Evo is expected to chug on with the existing 1.2-, 1.4- and 1.3-liter engines, the latter being a diesel unit available in two power states. This refresh should enable the hatchback to better compete with its rivals listed below.

Competition: Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, VW Polo, Honda Jazz, Tata Bolt

Expected Price: INR 5-7.5 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi

Fiat punto is one of the best hatchback in its segment, and the segment leader maruti swift is the worst bcoz its breaking is worst, body line is weak then all other and the major part what we think is Maintenance which is lower in punto.
Swift’s service interval is 10k where as Punto’s is 15k and both cars service cost around 4-5k bucks.

Just wondering why you guys keep saying that its a Punto Evo is a mere facelift? The one already was beautiful and fun to drive. The interiors are totally redesigned, new allows, newer features, new front fascia and new taillamps ! its a lot of changes.
While if u remember, Honda city came up with similar changes recently and everyone was so excited about it ! Dont be biased guys. Own a Fiat to know one.

    1. Hello Manas, the Evo is a facelift, its the same platform and powertrain package given a new dashboard and select body panels. This isn’t an all-new car. The Honda City certainly is, as its based on the new Jazz’s platform and everything about the car is new. Technically calling the Evo as the next gen or all-new is incorrect.
