Customer deliveries start early next year.
The exterior of the DC Avanti production version was seen in spyshots earlier this month. These images from TeamBHP member 'Unknownsatan', reveal the interior of the homegrown sportscar.
The design of the interior seems a bit old school, and doesn't appear as premium as its INR 35 lakh price would suggest. A large instrument cluster, a 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminium pedals, a touchscreen infotainment system and a silver center console with contrasting orange inserts make up the cabin.
The Avanti, which had its reveal at the 2012 Auto Expo in concept form, will be shipped to customers starting early next year. For customers who book now (the booking amount is INR 5 lakhs), deliveries are promised sometime in August or September 2015.
As reported earlier, the Avanti would be powered either by a 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine or a Renault-soured motor. The sportscar was announced by the manufacturer to do the 0-100 km/h run in 6 seconds and achieve a top-speed of at least 180 km/h. A spaceframe chassis underpins the Avanti, with the car's expected kerb weight at 1,580 kg.
