Dilip Chhabria's DC Design unveiled the Eleron SUV, priced at Rs 35 lakhs, at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014.
The Eleron is a 'Targa' topped SUV that was created based on the learnings from the Avanti sportscar. The Eleron is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 265 hp and a maximum torque of 360 Nm mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive Eleron gets double wishbone suspension at the front and air suspension at the rear.
The Eleron also gets 22-inch wheels, measures 5,055 mm long, 1,965 mm wide and is 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,090 mm and gets disc brakes at all four wheels. The drive-by-wire SUV also gets a limited slip differential at the rear.
The SUV sits on a space frame chassis that is made of carbon composite two-door three box, targa roof. The company claims that the space frame chassis provides for excellent torsional stiffness. At the front, it gets all LED lighting with bi-halogen headlamps. The Eleron comes standard with ABS and weighs 2.5 tons.
The Eleron's top-speed is 200 kph and a 0-100 kph time of 9 seconds is achievable. It also comes standard with latest-generation ABS units from Bosch and ESP.
