Deliveries commence in June 2016.
Datsun has confirmed that mass production of the Datsun redi-GO is underway, and bookings are being accepted since May 1 for a minimum deposit of INR 5,000.
Seen above is a photo of the Datsun redi-GO alongside its French cousin, the Renault Kwid, which were showcased during Japanese Ambassador Hiramatsu's visit to the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai. Both products are based on the same CMF-A platform, and are marketed as "urban crossovers".
The redi-GO will also be powered by the same 0.8-liter three cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Power output and fuel efficiency figures will be revealed closer to its market launch, although Datsun claims that the redi-Go will offer best-in-class fuel mileage.
