Expected to debut at Auto Expo 2016.
Datsun is currently working on the redi-GO hatchback, which was spotted testing in Chennai in a production-ready state. Based on spyshots, IAB's rendering artist, Shoeb R Kalania has created a digital render of the Maruti Alto 800-rival.
Drawing inspiration from the concept Datsun redi-GO unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014, the production-spec model will adopt a crossover-esque design, along the lines of its close cousin, the Renault Kwid. It will feature the characteristic hexagonal grille flanked by a large pair of swept back headlamps, high ground clearance, and steel rims with full-wheel caps.
The redi-GO will be the second product in India to ride on the highly localized CMF-A platform, first being the Kwid. It is also expected to feature a frugal petrol engine with power and torque in the whereabouts of 50 PS and 70 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be the only transmission option, at least initially.

Given Datsun's budget and entry-level brand image, the redi-GO is likely to slot below the Renault Kwid, and would be priced even lower than the Kwid's INR 2,59,968 (ex-showroom Delhi) starting price tag.
