The Datsun sedan announced for Russia (spied a few times) might be called the Datsun on-Do, it emerges today. The sedan premieres in Russia on April 4 and along with it, brand Datsun. Earlier last week, Datsun had even released a sketch of the Datsun sedan for Russia.
Even though Datsun haven't confirmed a hatchback for Russia, a report on Russian website Carobka states that the patents filed by the company in Russia reveals that it could be called the Datsun mi-Do. While the sedan has been officially confirmed for Russia, the Indian market is getting a hatchback and an MPV this year, followed by a smaller vehicle next year.
Datsun India will officially launch the Datsun Go on March 19. The company expects to sell at least 5,000 units of the hatchback every month. As for the MPV, it was already seen at the Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) last September and will be the country's first Datsun.
While the Go and Go+ are built on the Nissan V-platform, that also underpins the Nissan Micra, the sedan for the Russian market is built on an old Lada Granta's platform.
The Datsun Go hatchback will get a 1.2-liter petrol engine that makes 67 hp and 106 Nm of peak torque. Technical specifications of the sedan have not been made public.
