Datsun will launch the Go hatchback on March 19 in New Delhi. The Go is the modern Datsun’s first ever product which was globally unveiled in India in July last year. Post the unveiling, Datsun commenced production of the Go at Renault-Nissan alliance’s Oragadam facility in Tamil Nadu earlier last month.
The Go is based on the Nissan V-Platform and shares its 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with the Micra. For the Go, engineers have retuned this motor to produce 67 bhp and 106 Nm of torque.
The hatchback measures 3,785 mm in length, 1,635 mm in width, 1,485 mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,450 mm. The ground clearance measures 170 mm while the boot has a capacity of 265 liters. All variants of the Datsun Go come with 13-inch steel rims. However, even the top-end variant of the Go will not feature ABS, airbags, internally adjustable wing mirrors, rear wiper or foglights.
The Go will launch in three trim levels, four body color options and two interior fabric pattern selections. Pre-bookings for the car commenced last month with the pre-booking amount being INR 11,000. All variants of the Go will be priced below INR 4 lakhs, ex-Showroom. Also, the Go will have a single ex-Showroom price for all over India. The car will come with a 2 year/unlimited km warranty.
