CMF-based model to not launch in India.
The first test mules of the next generation Nissan Micra have been spotted up-close in Spain. It is expected to arrive on the European market in late 2016/early 2017, and will be manufactured at Renault's Flins plant in France. The global premiere of the 2017 Nissan Micra will be held at the Paris Motor Show this October, it is reported.
As expected, the camouflage covers an exterior design that draws heavy inspiration from the Nissan Sway concept unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The test mule is characterised by a narrow snout, sharp creases along the side panels, a sloping roofline, a rear spoiler, and rear door handles integrated into the C-pillars. The design would be more suited for the European market with a better quality interior.
The next gen Nissan Micra will be based on the Renault-Nissan CMF platform (likely CMF-B), which will target to make the Micra lighter yet more rigid than the current V Platform. Its engine lineup could include a downsized 0.9-liter TCe turbocharged petrol, mated to manual and automatic transmissions.
