Thrust Zone claims to have photographed the BS-VI version of the Bajaj Dominar 400 at the company’s Chakan plant. It says that the BS-VI compliant model could arrive by Diwali this year. Interestingly, the alleged BS-VI version is painted in red colour which is not offered in the BS-IV version. The flagship Bajaj bike is currently sold in Auroral Green and Matte Black paint options.
Bajaj Auto has updated the engine of the Dominar 400 in its latest iteration and the motorcycle now uses a Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC), which has brought it one step closer to BS-VI compliance. The updated 373.3 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine with fuel injection tech makes more power now. It is tuned to produce 40 PS at 8,650 rpm and 35 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
Bajaj Auto has not made any announcements about the launch timeline for the BS-VI-compliant Dominar 400. As for the red colour, Bajaj Auto has already shown it the motorcycle's promotional videos. Company officials had confirmed during the media ride that the 2019 Dominar 400 could receive new colour options if there is sufficient demand.
