The new Bajaj Dominar 400 is offered in two colour options – Auroral Green and Matte Black, at an ex-showroom price of INR 1,73,870 (ex-showroom Delhi). The promotional video starts with a Glossy Red unit before and then a unit with a different paint joins it. While the video concentrates on the red motorcycle, the second unit appears to sport a matte silver finish, which was previously spotted in January this year, although the bright indoor lights made it look like white paint. The glossy red colour was revealed by Bajaj Auto in its 'World's Favourite Indian' campaign.

Bajaj Auto had said during the media ride that the company could introduce more colours for the new Dominar 400 depending on the demand. The deliveries of the updated model have commenced in the country. Unlike the old model, it is available in ABS variant only, as mandated by the new safety norms.

The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 packs several visual and mechanical upgrades. The engine, for example, comes with a dual overhead camshaft. The displacement remains unaltered at 373.3 cc, but the maximum power has gone up by 5 PS to now makes 40 PS (delivered at at 8,650 rpm). The maximum torque of the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor is still 35 Nm of peak torque, delivered at 7,000 rpm. The Dominar 400 is currently the only product in Bajaj's portfolio to feature a dual-channel ABS.

Updated hardware specifications include 43 mm upside down (USD) forks instead of conventional telescopic units, new twin barrel exhaust and radial front callipers. The instrument console gets a split style design with the secondary screen mounted on the fuel tank. Other features include forged steel side stand, bungee straps, spacecraft inspired tank pad decals and new mirror design with cast aluminium stalks.
