Will reportedly launch in the second half of the current fiscal year.
BMW G310R - the first product of the TVS-BMW joint venture has been spotted doing test runs on Indian roads. The bike was unveiled in November last year after which it also made its appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. The G310R will be manufactured at TVS production facility in Hosur and has been engineered by BMW in Germany. The motorcycle is reported to launch in India in the second half of the current financial year.
The test bike wore no camouflage and has been spied on the Krishnagiri - Bangalore Highway. The video shows the blue baby Bimmer cruising at a decent speed.
The BMW G310R will come equipped with upside down forks at front, dual disc brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), a muscular fuel tank, full digital instrumentation and a pure roadster appeal.
Powering the bike is a 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that has been mated to a six-speed transmission. The electronically fuel injected motor churns out a maximum power of 33.6 bhp at 9,000 rpm while the peak torque of 28 Nm comes in at 7,500 rpm.
Since the production of bike takes place domestically, the price will hopefully stay competitive to threaten the market share of its biggest rival - the KTM Duke 390. TVS is also working on the production spec Akula 310, which will reportedly come as Apache RTR 300 and is set to be launched after the G310R.
