The media ride of the India-made BMW G 310 GS is underway in Barcelona, Spain; the bike will be released in Europe in the beginning of November, this year.
All the media motorcycles are in Racing Red colour variant. The Pearl White Metallic colour version is on display at the event. The BMW G 310 GS is made in TVS’ Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu, and is exported worldwide. The price of the motorcycle in UK starts from GBP 5,100 (INR 4.45 lakhs). It is GBP 650 (INR 56,739) more than the G 310 R. The bike is likely to be launched in India after the naked version hits the market. The BMW G 310 R will be launched in the country only after the retail infrastructure is in place.

The BMW G 310 GS employs a 313cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. It generates 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission and the top speed stands at 143 kmph. As per the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC), the fuel efficiency is 30.03 km/l.
Coming to the cycle parts, the motorcycle comes with 41 mm upside down front forks with gold anodised finish. The rear gets a monoshock. The front and rear suspension offer 180 mm of travel. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. Brakes include a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with switchable ABS.
