BMW Motorrad has launched its entry-level naked bike, the BMW G 310 R in Malaysia at RM 26,900, On The Road (INR 4.02 lakh).
The bike employs a 313cc single cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. It puts out 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission. The bike uses a steel frame with the engine as the stressed member.

When it comes to suspension, the naked motorcycle employs a 41 mm upside down forks at the front and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. The swingarm is made of solid die cast aluminium. The bike features a 300 mm front disc with radially mounted 4-piston calliper and a 240 mm rear disc with single piston floating calliper. BMW Motorrad ABS links both the brakes.
A 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres wrap the 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. The bike weighs 158.5 kg, with all the fluids on board. The usable fuel tank volume stands at 11 litres and the claimed efficiency is 30 kmpl. This translates into a range of 330 km on a full tank. The claimed top speed is 143 kmph.
The Indian launch of the bike has been postponed as BMW Motorrad is still working on building the sales and service infrastructure.
