Would be the first Pulsar to get ABS.
According to a report on Autocar India, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will launch on March 26, and not March 27 as per an earlier report.
The news comes on the back of a dealership in Kolkata already having received the motorcycle. Bajaj is expected to ship the RS200 to its dealers nationwide shortly, as production has started at the Chakan plant. Expecting strong demand, Bajaj wants to have about 25,000-30,000 units of the RS200 ready before the launch.
To recap, the RS200 borrows its engine from the Pulsar 200 NS. The single-cylinder liquid-cooled 199.5 cc engine in question makes 24.4 PS and 18.6 Nm of torque on the RS200, according to Bajaj's Turkish website. Putting those numbers in comparison, the Pulsar 200 NS produces 23.52 PS and 18.3 Nm of torque.
Thanks to the additional weight of the fairing, the RS200 is about 6 kg heavier than the 200 NS at 151 kg. Also, where the 200 NS gets a 14.3 liter fuel tank, the RS200 would get a smaller 12 liter tank.
The Pulsar RS200 would also be the first Pulsar to be equipped with ABS, though it remains to be seen if this is provided as standard or as an optional fitment.
