The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is one of most anticipated products arriving this year from Bajaj Auto. Here are five things we know about the Bajaj Pulsar CS400.
Origins
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 was first shown in concept form at Auto Expo 2014 and is finally evolving into a production naked motorcycle this year. The 'CS' and '400' in the name stand for 'Cruiser Sport' and the motorcycle's engine class respectively.
Design
The production Bajaj Pulsar CS400, spy shots and spy videos suggest it hasn't changed so much from its concept version seen two years ago. The renderings seen in this story preview Bajaj Auto's future flagship model in near-production form.
Mechanicals
A mechanical change in the production version revealed by spy media is the conventional front suspension employed in place of the concept version's upside-down unit. It is reported that the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will use the KTM Duke 390's 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 32 kW (44 hp) and 35 Nm of torque. Triple-spark technology is expected to be incorporated in this engine for the Bajaj Pulsar CS400, although there's no speak of ride-by-wire technology. KTM is already prepping an updated version of this engine for the second generation KTM Duke 390.
A 6-speed transmission will send power to the wheel, and stopping power will come from front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The all-digital instrument panel and auxiliary digital display have been carried over in the production version.
