To be a commuter model.
NDTV Auto reports that Bajaj Auto has scheduled a product launch on February 1 which could be the first offering of the new brand of commuter motorcycles the company is planning to eventually replace the Bajaj Discover series with.
Last year the company announced its intention to introduce a new sub-brand of motorcycles in the commuter segment which will be positioned between the Platina and the Discover range of models. Last month it was reported that the new sub-brand will eventually replace the Discover and that the first model would be introduced in the coming weeks. The report also mentioned that the first model in the new sub-brand would be a 125 cc bike.
Recent spyshots of a Bajaj motorcycle prototype suggested that it is one of the models under the anticipated banner, and it appeared to be a 150 cc motorcycle. NDTV Auto suggests that the spied model would be launched on Feb 1, and that it would coexist with Discover variants.
The model appears to be an amalgamation of the Pulsar 150 and the Avenger 150, with a naked-sports type of front end and a cruiser-styled seat and rear end. The product definition of the prototype is still unclear.
