Will be positioned between the Platina and Discover.
According to a report on ZigWheels, Bajaj Auto India will introduce a new commuter brand of motorcycles in the second half of this financial year in a bid to increase its market share from the current 17 percent to 23 percent.
Bajaj already sells motorcycles under the Platina and Discover nameplates in the commuter segment, but is overtaken by rivals such as Hero Motocorp and Honda when it comes to sales performance. The new commuter brand will likely be positioned between the Platina and Discover, the report states.
The first motorcycle to come in this brand would be a 125 cc product, which could borrow its engine from the Discover 125M. Compared to the Platina, the new commuters will have better styling and premium features though further details remain sketchy.

Apart from the commuter segment, Bajaj plans to continue its dominance in the premium segment with the launch of a new Pulsar (likely to be the Pulsar 150NS) in the June-July period this year. The brand will also bring its flagship Pulsar 400 offerings this financial year.
