The series production of the 2020 Hyundai ix25 (2020 Hyundai Creta) has commenced, new spy shots doing rounds on the Chinese media have revealed. The new images have leaked more details about the upcoming model's interior in more detail.
While the exterior of the 2020 Hyundai ix25 may look odd, its interior is surprisingly very upmarket in terms of design for a model its class. The all-new model follows a minimalistic approach for its luxury model-style cabin. It features a more compact steering wheel, exceptionally large floating portrait central display that seamlessly merges into the floor console and horizontal central air vents. Furthermore, another important update is the use of what appears to be a fully-digital instrument panel.
Key features of the 2020 Hyundai ix25 include a panoramic sunroof, shark fin antenna, split LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, split LED rear combination lamps and a 360-degree camera system as well.
The 2020 Hyundai ix25 measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,620 mm/1,635 mm in height. In comparison to the outgoing model, it is longer and wider by 10 mm. The height, depending on the configurations compared, is anywhere from 2 mm to 11 mm lower. The wheelbase, at 2,610 mm, is 20 mm longer.
Under the hood, there's the 84.4 kW (114.75 PS) G4FL 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. Depending on the configuration, the fuel economy rating is 5.3 L/100 km (18.86 km/L) or 5.8L/100 km (17.24 km/L) and the top speed will be 172 km/h/ or 75 km/h.
In India, the 2020 Hyundai Creta will likely be offered with 115 PS 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 115 PS 1.5L turbocharged diesel and 120 PS 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine options. Unlike the first-gen model, the second-gen model will have 7-seat version. The 7-seat version could be offered with the same 1.5L engines and a 140 PS 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine.
