The Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 was spied testing in a production-ready form this month. The new FZ series will feature a design overhaul along with a few mechanical upgrades. The FZ FI V3.0 will receive a redesigned fuel tank with faux radiator scoops, and all-new LED headlight, which is mostly similar to the unit found on the Yamaha FZ25.

The Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 will feature a sleek tail section with a new single-piece seat. The 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, which are identical to the FZ25, are a departure from the older 5-spoke design. The motorcycle features a new front fender and a short rear mudguard along with a Yamaha FZ25 sourced tyre hugger.

The new FZ series will also feature a new digital instrument console. In comparison to the FZ FI V3.0, the Yamaha FZ-S V3.0 will receive a new graphics kit, a short windscreen and an engine belly cowl.

Powering the Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 will be a 149cc fuel-injected, single-cylinder motor that is good for 13.2 PS of power and 12.8 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will receive a single-channel ABS as standard fitment to comply with the upcoming safety norms.

As far as pricing is concerned, the 2019 Yamaha FZ series is likely to get costlier by up to INR 10,000. The FZ FI V2.0 costs INR 81,540, while the FZ-S V2.0 retails at INR 87,542 (both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

The FZ-series is Yamaha’s bestselling product line in India, which accounts for average sales of about 18,000 units every month. The 2019 FZ series will look to mount a tougher challenge to the Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the Honda X-Blade.

While Yamaha hasn’t revealed the launch date of the new FZ series, the company has sent out an invite for a press conference on 21 January.
