Suzuki Motorcycle India launched the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer SP and the Suzuki Gixxer SF SP range on 9 July, priced at INR 87,250 and INR 1,00,630 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The motorcycles have started reaching Suzuki dealerships, as can be seen in this video.
The Suzuki Gixxer SP features ABS as standard, while the Gixxer SF SP gets fuel injection as well as ABS as standard. Apart from these, the new Gixxer/SF SP series comes with a gold and black paint scheme along with a new SP 2018 Emblem. The motorcycles feature new body decals on the fuel tank and the front cowl. Suzuki dubs the new paint scheme as Metallic Majestic Gold/Glass Sparkle Black.
Barring the cosmetic updates, the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer/SF SP series remains the same. The Suzuki Gixxer SF SP and the Gixxer SP sources power from a 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. The motor is capable of producing a maximum power of 14.6 bhp at 8,000 rpm while developing 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine pairs to a 5-speed transmission. The 2018 Gixxer/SF SP Series features 17-inch alloy wheels that run on 100-section front and 140-section rear MRF tubeless tires.
The Suzuki Gixxer SP rivals the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB Hornet 160R and the Yamaha FZ-S FI V2.0. On the other hand, the Suzuki Gixxer SF SP competes with the Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0. The Suzuki Gixxer/SF range receives 41 mm telescopic forks at the front along with a 7-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear.

The Gixxer and Gixxer SF range comes with a digital instrument cluster, LED taillights, and a sporty twin-port exhaust system, while the Gixxer SF additionally features a full fairing as well. Anchorage is provided by a 266 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc brake, while single-channel ABS is standard.
