According to the report, the updated Gixxer is expected to launch in India next year.

The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer will feature cosmetic updates with sharp design elements and new graphics. The design is likely to take inspiration from the Suzuki GSX-S150 and the Haojue HJ300 (upcoming rebadged Suzuki GSX-S300).

The 2019 Gixxer will feature full-LED headlamps, Suzuki Easy Start System, a TFT instrument cluster display, and possibly split-seats as well. The report further claims that the motorcycle will receive an improved riding position.

The new Suzuki Gixxer will carry forward the frame and suspension components. However, the brilliant riding dynamics offered by the chassis is slightly compromised by the stiff ride quality of the Gixxer. The report states that Suzuki is expected to address the issue without overtly compromising on the ride and handling prowess of the Gixxer.

Suzuki is expected to work on refining the engine characteristics, while we could also see a slight bump in power. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer will carry the same braking components as that of the current model, while single-channel ABS will be standard.

The current-gen Suzuki Gixxer sources power from a 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve engine with air cooling that is capable of generating 14.5 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm, while the engine pairs to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle features a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres with a kerb weight of 136 kg. Anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both the end, while the bike gets single-channel ABS as an option.

The Suzuki Gixxer features telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear mono-suspension. The motorcycle comes with 17-inch alloy wheels that run on 100/80 R17 front and 140/60 R17 rear (radial) tubeless tires. The current model costs, INR 87,250 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the ABS variant and the next generation Gixxer will come at a slight premium. The Suzuki Gixxer rivals the TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB Hornet 160 and the Yamaha FZ-S.
