ET Auto is reporting an order backlog of around 40,000 units of the Maruti Dzire. The third generation Dzire went on sale in May 2017 and currently retails for INR 5.43-9.39 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
After clocking a sales figure of almost 31, 000 units in August 2017, Maruti Dzire sales for September grew to around 34,000 units. Such is the demand for the compact sedan that it has managed to comprehensively displace erstwhile leader Maruti Alto from its perch at the top of the monthly sales chart.
A report from August claimed that first-time car buyers are increasingly giving preference to cars like the Dzire and Swift over entry level products such as the Alto owing to their more aspirational nature.
