Royal Enfield announces price cut; applicable from June 17

Royal Enfield becomes the second two-wheeler company in India to apply post-GST prices.

Royal Enfield has confirmed a price cut on its motorcycles making it the second manufacturer to do so. This week, Bajaj Auto became the first manufacturer to pass on GST (Goods and Service Tax) benefits to consumers before the deadline by reducing the price of the products by up to INR 4,500.

2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 ES reaches dealerships side — All Royal Enfield 350 cc models will see prices drop, while clarity is awaited on the prices of the 500 cc and above models like the Classic 500 and Himalayan.

Thanks to the change in taxation, motorcycles with an engine displacement of 350 cc or below are set to become cheaper. Hence, GST benefits are expected to be applicable only on the Royal Enfield Bullet ES, Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350.

Royal Enfield though has not specified any amount, and these benefits will depend on the model and the State. GST is applicable from July 1, 2017.

Royal Enfield has showcased two custom builds by Sinroja Motorcycles at the ongoing 2017 Wheels and Waves exhibition in France. The Surf Racer is based on the Royal Enfield Continental GT, and the Gentleman Brat is based on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch series at Surat International Auto Expo 2017 — Royal Enfield introduced the Redditch range of colour for the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in January 2017.

Royal Enfield is working on a parallel twin mill with an engine displacement around 750 cc. The new powerplant has been spotted in a café racer and is expected to be called the Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 when it emerges later this year.
