Yamaha R15 v3 flaunts its tail section in the latest pictures

The Yamaha R15 v3 will be significantly more advanced than today's bike.

The performance 150 cc market will soon see the rebirth of the Yamaha R15. Set to enter its third generation in the coming months, the Yamaha R15 v3 has been spotted again by IwanBanaran.

The latest pictures reveal more of the aggressive body panels and the continuation of the high set tail section.

The Yamaha R15 v3 gets a similar style and sporty design as the present version. The features list is longer with several technological as well as safety additions.

With a new heart having a displacement around 155 cc, the single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine in the Yamaha R15 v3.0 will continue with its Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) layout. This helps Yamaha keep the engine compact. The competition comprising of the Honda CBR150R and Suzuki GSX-R150 though utilises a DOHC setup.

The addition of Variable Valve Actuation technology (VVA) will help compensate the lack of a dual overhead cam. In fact, VVA will assist the Yamaha R15 v3 to produce an ideal amount of power at low, mid as well as high rpm range.

The output figures, which in the Yamaha R15 v2 stand at 17 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque, will definitely see an upward revision.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 will gain several exciting additions to the features list. These includes LED headlamps, upside down front forks and an all-digital instrumentation console. Braking duties continue to be overseen with disc brakes all around. However, no test unit so far has been spotted with an ABS ring, which will certainly be on offer in the India spec Yamaha R15 v3.

The Yamaha R15 v2 has a sticker price of INR 118,373 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and due to the new safety and performance hardware, the Yamaha R15 v3 is expected to get a price bump.
