Reports suggest that the Kwid AMT will launch for sale in the second week of November.

The French manufacturer is yet to release details on the Kwid’s Easy-R AMT unit, although it’s likely to be a 5-speed unit that will be exclusive to the Kwid 1.0L, which packs a 999 cc engine that produces 68 PS and 91 Nm. With the 5-speed manual option, the Kwid 1.0 is capable of averaging 23.01 km/L.

Unlike the AGS unit in Maruti Alto K10, the Renault Kwid AMT will not have manual shifting modes. The gear selector is a dial located beside the window controls on the center console with the usual selection of gears. It also has a crawl function that helps move forward/reverse slowly without throttle input.
