Kwid’s 1.0L engine produces 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque.
Renault has revealed that the more powerful Renault Kwid 1.0L MT can average a fuel efficiency of 23.01 km/L. It falls short of the Maruti Alto K10, which is capable of 24.07 km/L, but is more fuel efficient than the Hyundai Eon 1L (20.3 km/L).
The Kwid 1.0 is powered by an all new 999 cc three cylinder SCe engine, which produces 68 PS and 91 Nm. A 5-speed manual is the only gearbox available, while an AMT variant will arrive a short time later. Renault claims that the Kwid 1.0 does have the best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, which is rated at 97 PS/tonne.
Compared to its less powerful twin, there are no changes to the exterior of the Renault Kwid 1.0. For certain differentiation, it features a black and white chequered decal with a ‘1.0’ lettering on the lower portion of its side profile and silver ORVM caps.
The Kwid 1.0 will be sold in RxT and RxT (O) grades, and will borrow the feature list from the Kwid 0.8. It gets a 7 inch MEDIANAV touchscreen display, fabric seat upholstery with red inserts, front power windows and an optional driver’s airbag.
