Mercedes-Benz confirms 11 models for 2017.
In the company's presentation for investors, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the product road map for next year, which confirms that facelifted versions of the Mercedes S-Class and Mercedes GLA are in that business plan.
Both models (post facelift) have been spotted testing with sparse camouflage in Stuttgart, Germany. Spyshots of the pre-production S-Class facelift prototypes reveal next gen Multibeam LED headlamps with a new LED DRL design, updated taillights similar to the new E-Class’s, “stardust effect” taillights, and slightly redesigned bumpers and grille.
Inside, the 2017 Mercedes S-Class will drop the two-spoke steering wheel for a conventional 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, unified COMAND and Driver displays, redesigned touchpad for the COMAND system, new trim and upholstery options.
Engine lineup will also be updated, with reports suggesting that an all-new inline six petrol engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system will debut in the 2017 S-Class. All variants will adopt Merc's 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic gearbox. As the road map suggests the S-Class will be introduced in mid-2017.
