Deliveries to begin in November.
Seen here are images of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner at a dealership in Ahmedabad (for training/demo purposes). Toyota Kirloskar Motor plans on having the market launch in November, as mentioned by a few dealers Indian Autos Blog spoke to.
Based on the same ladder-frame platform as the 2016 Toyota Hilux, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be powered by the same engines as the 2016 Toyota Innova. The diesel range includes the 2.4- and 2.8-liter four-cylinder GD units, whereas the petrol engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit. Both, 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer as will the 4x4 system (as standard, the 2016 Fortuner will be a 4x2 offering, like the current model).
Some of the key features of the 2016 Fortuner will include LED projector headlights with daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Downhill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, 7-inch T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation, reversing camera and push button start/stop button.
