Debuts at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
The 2016 Renault Megane will be debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15 and will be launched in Europe sometime early next year. Our reader Thorsten Mohr from Germany has spotted the test mule of the vehicle.
The rival to the Peugeot 308 will be based on the CMF architecture (CMF-CD) that underpins the Espace, Kadjar and Talisman. The CMF which will replace the previous generation’s C-Platform is expected to make the car considerably lighter, while providing higher cost savings for the company.
Going by recent spyshots, the exterior design will borrow heavily from the mature and upmarket Renault Talisman, and sport a lower roof. The quality of materials and plastics are expected to be more premium and the dashboard layout will be less cluttered thanks to the 9-inch R-Link infotainment system placed on the center console.

Renault's 1.2- and 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engines, with minor tweaks, are expected to continue on the fourth gen Megane. An RS version that will come at a later stage will have a new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 300 bhp, says reports. The diesel engine will likely be the same 1.5-liter engine making 130 bhp. These will likely be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
