Model featured is likely to be the base variant.
Following the reveal of its interior, a new image of the 2016 Mercedes E Class (W213) has surfaced online, which gives a closer, unedited look at the center console as well as the new key fob design.
Judging by the smaller COMAND infotainment display and analogue instrument dials, the model featured here is likely to be a lower variant in the wide E Class range. Official images have revealed that higher variants get two 12.1 inch displays for the driver and COMAND system, as seen in the S Class.
The dark wood trim doesn't feature the usual gloss finish, while the ambient lighting strip can be seen illuminated across the dashboard. It also debuts Merc's new key fob design, which is a much needed upgrade from the dated look of the current unit. It looks sleeker and has gloss black buttons neatly arranged around the 3-pointed star logo.
