After a generation skip, the Hyundai Tucson is all set to make a comeback in India. According to a report from carandbike, the 2016 Hyundai Tucson will be launched in India on 24 October just days ahead of Diwali.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,645 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. In India, it's expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 152 PS and 195 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.0-litre CRDi four-cylinder diesel engine in multiple power outputs - 136 PS and 184 PS. Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, and an all-wheel drive system could be offered on select models.
Noteworthy 2016 Hyundai Tucson features include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, twin exhaust tail pipes, trapezoidal panoramic glass sunroof, electronic parking brake, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, 6-speaker sound system and six airbags.
The Hyundai Tucson will be positioned between the Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Santa Fe. A report released in July said that Hyundai Motor India is keen to source 50% of the parts locally, and price the 2016 Tucson between INR 17 lakhs and INR 22 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The remaining components will come from Ulsan, South Korea.
