Will be launched in the first week of September, reportedly.
It was reported earlier last week that the sixth generation 2016 Hyundai Elantra will go on sale in India in the first week of September. Just weeks ahead of its launch, the 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been spied in Gurgaon, courtesy Automobilli Reporter. Along with the exterior, the spyshots show the India-spec 2016 Elantra's interior as well.
A three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, automatic transmission, 7- or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and HVAC vents for rear passengers are the key features that can be made out from the spyshots.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will likely be offered with two engines in India: 2.0 MPI and 1.6 VGT. The 2.0 MPI is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque. The 1.6 VGT is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic should be the transmission choices.
