According to a report on NDTV Car & Bike, the 2016 Hyundai Elantra will see its Indian market launch in the first week of September 2016. The 2016 Elantra has started undergoing its tests in India, and Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is expected to start rolling out the first units in the weeks to come.
For the Indian market, the 2016 Elantra is expected to offer two engine choices. The petrol option would be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder MPi capable of 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque while the diesel will be a 1.6-liter CRDi with VGT capable of 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. The 2016 Elantra is expected to offer 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions.
At the tape, the 2016 Hyundai Elantra measures 4,610 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,450 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Inside, Hyundai has equipped the sedan with a 3-spoke steering wheel, all-new center console, revised instrument cluster with a new multi-info display, a 7-or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Android Auto in top-end grades.

The 2016 Elantra will rival the likes of the Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia and VW Jetta when launched in September. Expect prices to begin at INR 13 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
