The new generation model will hit the showrooms in Brazil next year.
The 2016 Honda Civic has been spotted testing on the streets of Brazil. The 10th generation model is slated for a world premiere in Los Angeles and Detroit concurrently, on the 16th of September, 2015 following which the 2016 Civic could make it to the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show in November, for its first public appearance.
Previewed by the Honda Civic Concept that was unwrapped at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the 2016 Honda Civic will use the new “Flying H” grille as part of the 'EXCITING H!!!' design language. Other exterior characteristics include a pair of LED headlamps that will be available optionally, a set of LED boomerang taillights (as standard), sporty bumpers, turn indicators on the front wheel arches and a rakish C-pillar design.
An all-new 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC engine will be introduced in the 2016 Civic. This engine will be offered in multiple variants with different power and torque settings. Honda hasn't released the output figures of the 1.5-litre engine yet, but the same motor powers the JDM-spec Honda Jade RS, producing 150 PS maximum power and 203 Nm peak torque. This engine on the 2016 Honda Civic will be offered internationally with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT unit with 7-stepped ratios. A 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine will be the second engine option, as suggested by the car's order guide.
