To make world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
On June 10, BMW had revealed the all-new 2016 BMW 7 Series, which has now been spotted for the first time (post-unveil, without camouflage) outside the BMW Welt in Munich. This gives us a look at the new 7-Series in the wild sans camouflage or body cladding.
As seen in the spyshot, the BMW 7-Series follows the company's latest design philosophy and is an evolutionary step over the previous model, with features such as optional Laserlight headlamps, LED taillamps, a large BMW kidney grille with active aero function. The exterior looks more regal thanks to the generous helping of chrome and multi-spoke alloy rims.
Based on the CLAR RWD platform, the body construction features CFRP (carbon fiber) with a mix of steel, aluminum and plastic. Thanks to the new platform, the 7-ser sheds 130 kg over the outgoing model.
The interior features a familiar design that is upgraded with next generation technology. It comes standard with a freestanding touchscreen display powered by BMW's iDrive 5.0. It also supports air gestures for the first time, and has the largest Head Up Display in any production car.
The featured model is apparently a BMW 750Li xDrive, which is powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 producing 444 bhp and 650 Nm of torque sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is also equipped with the xDrive AWD system, enabling it to hit 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and max out at a restricted speed of 250 km/h.

The new 7 Series will likely make its Indian debut next year. Expect private previews for prospective customers to take place before its launch in the country, and the 2016 Auto Expo early next year looks like an ideal setting for such activities. Like the current model, it will also be assembled at BMW India’s Chennai facility, which recently has embraced increased localization.
