Global debut at Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September.
Following the fully-exposed spyshots of the new 2016 Audi A4’s headlamps and dashboard, Audi4ever member WINMAN (who was sent these images by Mr. Andreas Martin) has posted new images of the car testing with camouflage. Audi’s next generation executive compact sedan awaits a global premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September, while the company is expected to reveal the car to journalists before.
The new fifth-generation A4 (codenamed as B9) has grown in size but has shed about 100 kg apparently, thanks to the VW’s new MLB Evo platform which also underpins the new Audi Q7. The car will sport an evolutionary design language inspired from the Audi Prologue concept, like the inverted L-shape headlights, wider single-frame grille, dual character lines on the bonnet, etc.
The new Audi A4 is likely to get a cost-down version of the Audi Q7’s dashboard featuring continuous air-vent design, controllers, HVAC controls, a free-standing MMI display and features like 4G LTE. The cabin is expected to be quieter and more spacious.
It was reported earlier that the executive sedan may get a total of 13 engine options, including six petrol, three diesel and two e-tron hybrid powertrains. Petrol engines would include a 1.4-liter TFSI a 3.0-liter TFSI units with different outputs, while the diesel units would be the 1.6-liter TDI and a 3.0-liter TDI, said the report. A new 9-speed S-tronic automatic gearbox is on the cards.

Once launched, the 2016 Audi A4 will go on sale in Europe by the year end or in early 2016. Audi India will import the car as CKD units (if not at launch, at least later on), and will be made available for sale in the Indian market in the first half of 2016. The Indian-spec will not have all 13 engine choices listed, but rather select petrol and diesel variants.
