2016 Mercedes GLS caught with minimal camouflage – Spied [Video]
Hopelessly in love with everything on four wheels. Interested in cars since my formative years, with an unhealthy affinity for exotics and tuners. Fondness for the open road with high-octane machinery for company!
To be unveiled this year.
The 2016 Mercedes GLS Class has been spotted testing with relatively minimum camouflage by Youtube user walkoART.

The GL facelift, apart from the following the new variant nomenclature, will receive minor interior and exterior changes for its mid-life facelift. Going by the location of the camouflage, the headlights are expected to switch to Multibeam LED units. Other changes to the face will be a new twin-slat grille and reworked hood. The side profile remains unchanged while the rear gets slightly modified tail lights and redesigned dual exhausts.
The interior has not been spied yet but some transfers from the cabin of the GLE are predicted. That means a standalone COMAND infotainment system, revised center console, redesigned steering wheel and fresh interior colour schemes.
The powertrains are unlikely to see changes. The diesel variants will be powered by the 3.0-litre V6 while the petrol variants will use a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo unit, a 4.7-litre V8 twin-turbo unit and the range topping 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo unit. Transmission choices will be 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters while the top-end 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo AMG variant will come with the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission.
It is not confirmed yet whether the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission will be offered while the ‘Maybach’ version with a stretched wheelbase is not in the running until the launch of the next generation model, closer to 2020.
A web report from May said that the Mercedes GLS will be up for pre-orders in select countries from November 4, 2015, while customer delivers are to commence in Q1 2016. For the Indian market, expect the GLS to be launched in mid- to late-2016, through local assembly.
