SUV segment in India to see a slew of launches.
GaadiWaadi has snapped the Chevrolet Trailblazer on tests yet again, ahead of its launch which will take place in the last quarter of this calendar year. The Trailblazer is one of two all-new products announced by GM India, the other being the Spin MPV.
For the Indian market, the Trailblazer will be powered by a 2.8-liter four-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engine developing 200 hp and a class-leading 500 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission with 2WD or 4WD capability.
The Trailblazer is likely to replace the poor-selling Chevrolet Captiva, but it will rival the same set of vehicles which include the Toyota Fortuner (best seller in the segment), Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Interestingly, the bulk of the competition are heading for full-model changeovers signifying that the SUV segment in India is indeed heating up. Toyota will world premiere the new 2016 Fortuner on July 17 in Thailand, Ford is likely to launch the next-gen Endeavour in India next month, and the all-new 2016 Pajero Sport is due to be revealed on August 1, in Thailand.

Keeping this in mind, the Trailblazer is likely to be well equipped. Perforated leather seats, electric adjustment for the driver seat, a touchscreen Chevrolet MyLink entertainment system with navigation, DVD playback and a reverse camera, ABS, dual front airbags and HAC are among the features that will be offered.
