An official announcement is expected anytime now.

The 2015 Ford Ranger facelift in its Wildtrack variant was spotted on test virtually undisguised in Thailand recently. The Ranger here is identified as a Wildtrack variant thanks to the blackened bumper, grille and the sports bar. Also, 'Wildtrack' badges on the car have been taped on this test mule.

The Ranger facelift borrows its front end from the new Endeavour.

The Ranger facelift gets a front fascia similar to the new Ford Endeavour (Ford Everest for other markets). And just like its SUV cousin, the 2015 Ranger also benefits from the new dashboard design which looks much more premium than the outgoing model.

Powering the Ranger facelift would be a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel or a range-topping 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel. The engines will be paired to manual and automatic transmissions with 2WD and 4WD.

Speaking of the 4WD system, the 2015 Ranger could get the modern Terrain management system announced for the Endeavour. The system allows the driver to choose between various modes like Sand, Mud etc. much like the system seen on Land Rover models.

Production of the Ranger facelift will take place at the Thailand plant. The Thai plant will also commence manufacturing the new Endeavour, which will be supplied to Ford India's Chennai plant through the CKD route.
