Ahead of its market launch in regions like Australia, China and India, the new 2016 Ford Everest (2016 Ford Endeavour for the Indian market) was spied testing 'Down Under'. Ford revealed the new Endeavour in November 2014, and announced that it will be manufactured in China and Thailand.
The 4,882 mm long SUV is announced to offer three engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder TDCi diesel and a 3.2-liter five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine.
According to reports, the new Endeavour measures 1,862 mm in width, 1,836 mm in height and 2,850 mm in wheelbase with a kerb weight of 2,357 kg. Ford claims the new Endeavour is more rugged than its predecessor with a 225 mm ground clearance and water wading depth of 800 mm. It also comes with a Terrain Management System with a new 4WD system and an Active Transfer Case.

For the Indian market, the new Endeavour is expected to launch by the end of this year with either of the diesel engines paired to manual and automatic transmissions. Ford India will assemble the SUV at its Chennai plant from Thai-made CKD kits.
