Launch expected in about a month.
The Ford Figo hatchback has recently been spotted in Mumbai without a pixel of camouflage. The vehicle was in an orange hue, which is not available in its compact sedan version, the Ford Figo Aspire.
Although the hatchback is completely based on the recently launched Figo Aspire, or vice versa, the smaller sibling will get some changes. While the Figo Aspire is treated with dual-tone (black and beige) cabin theme, the hatchback variant, in some variants, will sport an all-black colour theme.
Aside from the looks, most of the elements found in the Ford Figo Aspire are carried forward to the upcoming variant, including the lights upfront, dashboard & door panels, and the cabin features. Anticipating a similar variant lineup, the equipment that would be spread across the Figo hatchback trim levels, include dual front airbags, automatic climate control, Ford SYNC 2.0 infotainment system, steering wheel with multifunction buttons, reverse parking sensor, and alloy wheels.
There is also the possibility of six airbags on the range topping Titanium + variant, as in the Aspire, making it the only hatchback in India to offer them.
Powering the small car will be the same 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engines, doing duty in the sub-4 metre sedan version. Transmission systems will also be carried over, but it is unclear if the 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission with the 1.5L petrol engine will be offered in the hatchback.
