Courtesy of CarDekho, spyshots of the range-topping BMW X6 M and BMW X5 M in India have surfaced. This suggests that the X6 M will launch alongside the standard BMW X6 on July 23, while the X5 M will be launched at a later date this year.
Having made their debuts at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the new X6 M and X5 M are the latest models developed by the infamous BMW M Division, which ups the ante in terms of performance and driving dynamics. Visually the models are set apart with an aggressive body kit that complements the sheer power underneath hood, new wheels and 'M' badges.
Inside, exclusive features include the M instrument cluster, M steering wheel, body-hugging sports seats and even an M driver’s footrest. Like the standard model, it will also be equipped with BMW's iDrive infotainment system and Head-Up Display as standard.
Powering the X5 M and X6 M is a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine which delivers 575 hp between 6,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 2,200 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Torque is sent through an 8-speed Steptronic tranmission, to all four wheels via BMW's xDrive system. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
