Both models likely to launch in India next year.
The 2015 BMW X5 M and 2015 BMW X6 M performance SUVs have received their global debuts at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Both SUVs are powered by the 4.4-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine which is seen on the M5 and M6 Gran Coupe in India. The engine produces 575 hp between 6,000 to 6,500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 2,200 to 5,000 rpm. This, BMW says, represents a 4 percent increase in power and 10 percent increase in torque compared to the previous generation models.
At the same time, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions have improved by 20 percent, with the new models reporting 9 km/l and 258 g/km of CO2 respectively according to EU tests. The X5 M and X6 M accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds thanks to an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission that drives all wheels. The top-speed is limited to 250 km/h.
The exteriors of these SUVs get larger air intakes, side gills with Air Breathers, a rear spoiler and a quad-exhaust system with 20-inch or optional 21-inch M alloy wheels. Inside, an M instrument cluster, M steering wheel, sports seats and even an M driver's footrest are seen, exclusive to the X5 M and X6 M.

According to a report, the new X6 M would launch in India by the second half of 2015, and will complement the new X6 xDrive40d which would also launch at about the same period. Price wise, and performance wise, the SUV will rival the Mercedes GL 63 AMG, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Range Rover Sport 5.0L V8.
