The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has been spied testing in India once again. These images of Hyundai's SUV were clicked by Power Drift.
Hyundai India has been testing the all new Santa Fe since early this year. While we have brought you a lot of spy shots and updates about the off-roader, we haven't heard much about its launch. Seems as though Hyundai India is concentrating on the Grand i10's launch which is scheduled on September 3.
Our sources inform us that Hyundai India is finding it difficult to price the 2013 Santa Fe competitively. The Santa Fe's segment saw a new entrant in the form of the Ssangyong Rexton which came with a very competitive sub-20 lakh price tag. Even Honda for that matter launched the entry level CR-V at 19.95 lakhs (ex-Showroom, Delhi), but it is a petrol SUV. As a result, Hyundai clearly needs to get their pricing right if they wish to dethrone the segment king, the Toyota Fortuner.

Hyundai may argue on their part that the Santa Fe comes with a lot of laurels. For example, the Euro NCAP rated the Santa Fe as the World's Safest SUV giving it a higher score than the 2013 Range Rover! In the USA, over 1 million Santa Fes have been sold (since its launch in 2001) and Hyundai even has a 7-seater version called the Grand Santa Fe on sale in the US and Europe.
We would expect a late 2013 launch or an early 2014 launch for the new Santa Fe.
