The Yamaha Fazer 250 is mechanically identical to the Yamaha FZ25.
A new image of the upcoming faired Yamaha Fazer 250 (Yamaha Fazer 25) has been shared by Instagram user Malkeet. As noted from the earlier images, the motorcycle gains a new fairing and the rest of the body is identical to the naked roadster. The Yamaha Fazer 250 also gets the same single headlamp setup seen in the Yamaha FZ 25, and continues using LEDs.
Interestingly, the Fazer based on the Yamaha FZ 2.0 is a semi-faired, twin headlamp motorcycle.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will get disc brake at both ends while the presence of ABS rings has still not been confirmed on the bike. The motorcycle is anchored on a standard telescopic fork up front and a monoshock in the rear. The fuel tank volume is also expected to be unchanged (14-litre). While the naked Yamaha FZ 25 tips the scales at 148 kg, the upcoming faired Yamaha Fazer 250 could be slightly heavier due to the additional weight of the fairing and the new handlebar.
Powering the Yamaha Fazer 250 will be the tried and tested 249 cc mill with an an oil-cooler. The fuel injected engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and is capable of producing 20.9 PS of power and 20 Nm of torque.
