Yamaha could showcase a 125 cc scooter at the Auto Expo next month reports Autocar. The scooter is likely to be based on the Yamaha Nozza Grande. The Yamaha Nozza Grande was spotted testing in July, last year.
Yamaha launched the scooter in Vietnam in 2014, targeting female riders. In the Vietnamese market, the scooter comes in Premium and Deluxe versions. Salient features of the scooter include a 27-litre storage compartment with LED illumination, analogue-digital combo cluster, fuel tank cap on the apron, and multifunction lock.

The Nozza Grande employs a 124 cc SOHC engine with fuel injection, which makes 8.2 PS at 6,500 rpm, and 9.7 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. It pairs with an automatic transmission. Expect the India-spec scooter to use carburetor for competitive pricing.
For braking, it uses a front disc and a rear drum setup. The scooter rides on telescopic front fork and single rear shock absorber. The wet weight stands at just 99 kg, and the seat height is at 790 mm. If the Japanese brand plans to bring the scooter into the country, expect accessible seat height and optimised ground clearance for our roads. It would rival Hero’s upcoming 125 cc scooter,Honda Grazia, Suzuki Access 125, and Aprilia’s upcoming scooter, the SR 125.
