The supercar scene in India has warmed up several notches in the last 10 years. Many limited production cars and rare exotics have made their way to India. Seen here are images from the first reported sighting of a Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe in the country.
For the uninitiated, Wiesmann GmbH is a German sports car manufacturer that has its factory in Dülmen, Germany. It was started by Martin Wiesmann and Friedhelm Wiesmann in 1988. Their models are powered by motors sourced from BMW's M division. The Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe costs a staggering 189,500 Euros (INR 1,58,62,763.17).
The Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe made its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and uses the same all-alloy 5.0-litre V10 engine as the BMW M5 and M6. The naturally-aspirated engine benefits from Bi-VANOS variable camshaft control and outputs a maximum power of 500 bhp at 7,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 519 Nm at 6,200 rpm. Each of the ten cylinders features a dedicated electronically actuated throttle valve. Lubrication is courtesy of four oil pumps and two sumps.
The V10 engine is mounted behind the front axle, which gives the Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe a front mid-engine layout. As has been the case with the BMW M5 and M6, the motor comes mated to a 7-speed sequential paddle-shift transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Other highlights include a shift-speed control and variable-lock differential. The GT MF5 Coupe tips the scales at 1,380 kg.
