The new Bajaj Pulsar 125 will arrive in India very soon. While we are yet to hear any official details, the launch is expected to take place this month. Now, BikeDekho reports that the company may introduce a Neon Edition of the bike along with the standard version.

Contrary to its previous report, BikeDekho says that the test mule in the photograph is the Pulsar 125, and not the Pulsar 150 BS-VI variant.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125, as suggested by earlier reports, will carry the same styling as the Bajaj Pulsar 150. In fact, the motoring portal claims that the recently spotted test mule (pictured above) of the Pulsar family was the 125 cc model, and not the BS-VI variant of the 150 cc. The Neon Edition will feature bright colour treatment for the Pulsar logo on the fuel tank and for the pillion grab rail.

The 125 Neon will reportedly undercut the 150 Neon by INR 10,000. For reference, the Pulsar 150 Neon, which was launched at INR 68,250*, now retails at INR 71,200*. Thus, the Pulsar 125 Neon will cost approximately INR 61,000*.

The mechanical specifications on the Neon Edition will be identical to the standard 125 cc variant. The official performance figures for the Pulsar 125 are yet to be announced. However, a report from last month claimed that the new entry-level Pulsar would carry the same numbers as the Pulsar 135 (discontinued). Thus, the single-cylinder, air-cooled motor should deliver about 13.5 BHP (13.68 PS) and about 12 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with a five-speed gearbox. In comparison, the Pulsar 150 range uses a 149.5 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled mill that produces 14 PS at 8,000 rpm and 13.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The 125 cc model will feature a carburettor system, and fuel injection tech will be added to it with the BS-VI upgrade.

Given its displacement segment, the Pulsar 125 would most likely arrive with a CBS safety tech, which will help keep the prices low. Braking department will comprise a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back. Shock absorption hardware will include conventional front forks and gas-charged twin-sided springs at the rear.

The upcoming Pulsar 125 will compete against the premium commuter products in the 125 cc category. The muscular styling and feature list from the Pulsar 150 will make it more appealing than most of its rivals.
