Bajaj Auto will soon add a new Pulsar to its portfolio - the Pulsar 125. While the official launch details are still undisclosed, a report from ThrustZone claims that the new motorcycle will arrive in August.

The motoring website also adds that the power output will be similar to the Pulsar 135 and the upcoming motorcycle will draw 13.5 BHP (13.68 PS) and about 12 Nm of peak torque from its single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. In comparison, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 (carburettor model) churns out 12 PS of power and 10.8 Nm of torque. The motor will be linked to a five-speed gearbox. The 125 cc model will arrive with a carburettor mill although it will be upgraded to fuel injection system post the BS-VI upgrade.
Given the displacement segment, the safety net could comprise CBS, instead of ABS to keep the prices competitive. Anchoring department will comprise a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back. We expect to see 240 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum brake on the upcoming model. Conventional telescopic forks and gas-charged, twin-sided spring at the rear would perform the shock absorption tasks.
Styling cues, as claimed by a report from earlier this month, will be inspired by the Pulsar 150. Thus, we would see a halogen headlight with LED DRLs at the front, semi-digital instrument console and muscular styling for the fuel tank and the rest of the body panels. The rear of the motorcycle will feature a split-style, LED taillight. Unlike the bigger Pulsar motorcycles, the upcoming Pulsar 125 will miss the engine cowl.
Pricing will be a crucial aspect of the upcoming motorcycle. With the inclusion of the CBS system, carburettor motor and a rear drum brake, the Pulsar 125 is likely to arrive at a very competitive price tag. For reference, the company’s current entry-level model, the Pulsar 150 Neon, retails at INR 68,250*. We expect to see the Pulsar 125 arrive closer to the INR 60,000* price tag.
